PRINCIPAL, CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Before starting her career as an Interior Designer, Madeleine worked as a finishing carpenter on commercial and high-end residential projects, building a knowledge base of how each of the elements of construction work together.
Madeleine’s knowledge of construction combined with her passion for catered, functional, and creative interiors has helped her create spaces that are unique and distinctive to each individual client.
Tyler Bouchard
LEAD INTERIOR DESIGNER
Tyler began his career at a high-end architectural firm where he found his passion for residential interior design. Now, with over a decade of design experience, his skill and attention to detail have made him well known in Vancouver’s design industry. From custom homes to extensive renovations, Tyler has the experience and skill to dream up and design innovative and beautiful spaces for any aesthetic.
His ability to seamlessly integrate functionality with aesthetic appeal, coupled with his deep understanding of design principles, positions him as a sought-after expert in crafting spaces that not only meet but exceed the expectations of his clients.
Carol Chan
LEAD INTERIOR DESIGNER
Carol’s strong technical skills and her ability to work with clients in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin make her an invaluable addition to our team. Beginning her career in the high-end residential and commercial industry, Carol has a love for contemporary and transitional design that has been influenced by her travels abroad and emerging trends in the design industry, showcasing her profound commitment to staying at the forefront of innovative and diverse design practices.
Her keen eye for detail and passion for creating spaces that seamlessly blend functionality with aesthetic appeal further enriches her contributions to our collaborative projects.
Alexa Carruthers
OPERATIONS/BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Alexa has over 10 years of experience in finance and operations. After many years in retail banking, she transitioned to the building industry; she gained experience on both sides of the business by working for construction companies and consulting firms.
It is her love of interior design and passion for ‘all things creative’ that brings her skills and expertise to Madeleine Design Group. As the Operations and Business Development Manager, Alexa keeps the team on track, the business running smoothly, and the atmosphere welcoming, as she’s the first team member prospective clients will meet.
Heather Chapman
LEAD INTERIOR DESIGNER
Heather brings over a decade of professional experience in Interior Design, backed by a Bachelor’s degree and the title of Registered Interior Designer (RID) earned through the National Council for Interior Design Qualification exams. Additionally, she holds a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation, specializing in Interior Design & Construction.
Heather’s skill set goes beyond qualifications. Her approach emphasizes thoughtful design solutions, meticulously customized to meet the unique preferences and needs of each individual client. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to environmental sustainability, Heather consistently delivers exceptional and personalized interior design services.
Ellie Taylor
SHOWROOM ASSOCIATE/ JUNIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER
Ellie is completing her final year of the Interior Design program at BCIT and serves as our Showroom Associate for retail sales and Junior Interior Designer.
Joining MDG last year as an intern, she brings a passion for design and a commitment to customer service. Ellie blends academic training with hands-on experience, making her a valuable asset to our team. Welcome Ellie!
Danielle Reitsma
SENIOR FURNITURE SPECIALIST
Danielle Reistma brings 18 years of hands-on experience in the furniture industry, from sales and showroom maintenance to purchasing, all driven by her early passion for interior design. Her personal style is a refined blend of comfortable modern, mid-century, and West Coast modern influences. A lover of natural woods and greenery, Danielle excels at integrating houseplants into her designs and creating spaces that embrace life’s everyday messes—whether it’s kids or pets!
