The Yew Street Heritage project is a thoughtfully executed remodel of a charming 1910s home in the heart of Kitsilano. This main floor and basement transformation blends modern efficiency with classic heritage charm, keeping the original layout intact while improving functionality. Working within the constraints of the existing structure, we redesigned the kitchen for better flow and storage, creating a functional yet stylish space for daily living. A hidden powder room tucked behind the kitchen and rear entry adds a convenient surprise to the layout.
In the basement, we reimagined the previous rental suite into a spacious laundry room, cozy living area, and a play zone for the kids. Throughout the home, special attention was paid to period details—wainscoting was restored to its original elegance, while wallpaper above the wainscot in the dining room adds a touch of sophistication. The solid marble fireplace surround serves as a striking centerpiece, and custom cabinetry in Benjamin Moore’s Nimbus Grey ties the kitchen and dining spaces together beautifully.
